Recording artist, engineer, producer, writer,  and son of  musical legend Sugar Minott, BLAW is set to premier latest single, “Dancehall City” featuring Jr. Reid, and Yung JR. on March 13. 2015 on Global Linkz Radio with host, Empress Skortcher on “The Ever Blazing Friday” show.

At age 6, BLAW began playing his first instrument, the drums. He would later play the recorder at St Theresa Prep where he attended school. His high school years were spent at his fathers’ Alma Mater, the Kingston College. At age 13, while still at K.C he began writing material for his sister, performing artist Pashon Minott. He would later be associated with artists Alozade, Kid Corrupt, Sean Paul and Dutty Cup Crew, in a similar fashion, before forming his first record label, Rated R, at 16 years old with his brother Daniel “Blae” Minott. The label featured early work from artists Keke I, Candlelight, Tampanae, Blitz and Mr Banging. Some artists who have influenced Blaw are, his Father Sugar Minott, Bob Marley, Stevie Wonder, Cutty Ranks, Burru Banton and sister Pashon Minott.

At 15 he toured the UK with his father, Dancehall Legend, Sugar Minott, as well as Tristan Palmer, Junior Cat, Little John, Johnny P and Harry Toddler. They visited cities including Manchester, Birmingham, Chelsea (Caesar’s Palace), New Castle, London, Leeds, and Liverpool. BLAW played stage man, as well as personal assistant to his father, Sugar Minott.

When BLAW left school at 16, he began recording his father’s at Black Roots Recording Studios. He would train in studio engineering under Grammy nominated studio engineer Carlos Grey from 2002-2010.
At 18/19 he toured the U.S, again with his father. Places visited included Atlanta GA, Detroit MI, Chicago IL and areas of NY and FL. After this tour ended, BLAW formed a new crew and released his first independent rhythm which featured productions by artists RDX, Graphix, Determine, Shane-O, Tornado and Pashon. Since that time BLAW has produced music for KEKE I, Blitz, Levi, Invaydah, Mezma, JAH Niceness, Pashon and Shemana.

In 2009 the group 3B was formed. 3B included BLAW, his brother, Blae Minott,and close friend Clive Barrett (the Bomber). The group recorded over 40 tracks, then fell apart when Blae went solo in 2011. In 2012 one group member, Bomber was shot and killed in a robbery. This same year BLAW began his solo career.

Since then BLAW has made several appearances to include a performance on Capleton’s annual show; St Mary Mi Come From, with his sister Pashon Minott. In 2013, BLAW has also appeared as host of VTX countdown on Hype TV, on popular show UP and Live, on the Buzz with hosts Kishima Francis and Bones on Irie fm, on Hot 102 with Ken Williams and on Roots FM with hostess Isis. BLAWs’ latest performance was at the Marcus Garvey Day Celebration at the 12 Tribes of Israel Headquarters on Hope Road.
