Early Years
Harold Travis was born in Boligee, Alabama. At a very young age he entered the choir in his local church at Lincoln Memorial.
While still in school, “HT” as he was called by friends, formed the group Variations of Love and recorded the #1 song “I Will Always Love You” which gained him national attention in the 70’s. Soon after, he toured with legendary singer Rick James and had the opportunity to record with several other acts such as the late great Whitney Houston, Bobby Brown, Charlie Wilson, and Ralph Tresvant of New Edition.
